  • February 19-20, 2024
  • 16-hour course
  • 24-person maximum attendance
  • First responder agencies are frequently requested by schools, businesses, and community members for direction and presentations on what they should do if confronted with an active attacker event. The Civilian Response and Casualty Care (CRaCC) course, designed and built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend (ADD) strategy developed by ALERRT in 2004, provides strategies, guidance and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. This course combines the civilian response with the Stop the Bleed Campaign, which empowers civilians to provide life-saving medical aid before first responders ever arrive. Topics include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, civilian response options, medical issues, and considerations for conducting drills. Participants in this two-day Train-the-Trainer course will receive a manual and PowerPoint presentation suitable for use in their own presentations.

  • February 21, 2024
  • 3-hour course (8:00 AM - 11:00 AM)
  • No matter what your shirt-patch says – LE/FD/EMS -- when a person is bleeding out, you must step-up and act.  This act of stopping the bleeding is a priority that has become our standard of care.  The Stop-the-Bleed initiative continues to save lives, both out brothers and sisters, and civilians.  But now, we have a new priority – to spread the Stop-the-Bleed energy throughout our services, our schools, our businesses, and our communities.  Patients with otherwise survivable injuries can bleed-out long before we as responders can reach them.  We must train members of our community to step-up and save a life when needed.  Upon successful completion of this session, attendees will be certified to teach Stop-the-Bleed, and can bring this valuable initiative to their communities.  All training materials and equipment will be provided.  Registration is restricted to those that meet one or more of the criteria listed in this link: STOP THE BLEED

About the Training

The interdisciplinary School Safety and Violent Event Incident Management (SSAVEIM) course utilizes an enhanced tabletop format to explore the successful management of all aspects of active threat events, from initial law enforcement response to reunifying students with their loved ones.

By combining “best practice” elements of a validated scene management model (Active Shooter Incident Management from C3 Pathways) with the premier, nationally-recognized reunification system (the Standard Reunification Protocol from I Love You Guys Foundation), participants gain the critical skills required to tackle the "wave of chaos” that invariably occurs during the initial response to these complex emergencies.

This course helps fulfill the planning, training, and drill requirements of Act 143 and is guaranteed to enhance your organization’s existing safety/crisis plans.
