Eligibility Requirements for the Course:

Applicants must be employed in a supervisory position at a police department, sheriff's office or emergency dispatch center and must have the endorsement of their chief executive. A minimum of 60-hours of prior supervisory training is required. Preference is given to Lieutenants and above for agencies with this leadership structures. Smaller agencies  will be considered by their own unique staffing leadership structure. 

Applicants selected are expected to served at least three years in Wisconsin law enforcement post graduation.

Required Documents for the Application:

  • Cover Letter and Resume - max of 2 pages in length 
  • Transcript of 60 hours of leadership training - copies of certificates and ACADIS profile are accepted.
  • Letter of Recommendation from your Chief executive - Chiefs & Sheriffs are exempt from this requirement


Application Process:

Application must be made online through our online registration portal. The application period will run from 
January 8, 2024,
 through May 3, 2024. Each applicant will be reviewed for eligibility requirements for acceptance in the program. Should there be more candidates than seats available for the course - a committee will convene to select applicants to attend the course. 

Notification:

Selected candidates will be notified via email by May 17, 2024, if they are accepted into the course. Additional applicants will be placed on a wait list should a spot become available.
