COVID-19 Precautions

This DCI Basic Fire Investigation course was initially scheduled for May 2020, but was cancelled on March 23, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  While the situation involving COVID-19 has improved in Wisconsin, it remains a serious health concern.  The DCI will continuously monitor COVID-19 trends and may be required to make further modifications if deemed appropriate.  The DCI will make all reasonable efforts to comply with State and Local orders and CDC guidelines concerning COVID-19 to reduce the risk of spread and/or exposure.

This course will only be held if the conditions at the time meet Phase II or Phase III criteria established in the State Government Badger Bounce Back Plan.

Phase II: State office buildings are fully open for public-facing government services and general business, but remote work continues to be encouraged, when appropriate and available. Social distancing requirements continue to be strictly enforced, including in individual and shared workspaces. Gatherings of up to 50 individuals are allowed.

PHASE III: The state workforce fully returns to normal work locations and restrictions on large gatherings are lifted.

Additionally, the DCI is implementing additional precautionary measures to increase the safety and well-being of all participants and hosting agencies.  Applicants should carefully review and be prepared to follow the following precautionary measures:
