The Wisconsin Command College, a nationally accredited leadership and management development training program, is a joint venture of the Wisconsin Department of Justice and the University of Wisconsin - Madison, Local Government Education Program. Law enforcement leaders who complete this intense, six-week in-residence program will be recognized as a Certified Public ManagerĀ® by the University of Wisconsin.


The Certified Public ManagerĀ® Program prepares employees for the professions unique challenges and demands through seven core leadership competencies:



Course Schedule

Week 1:     August 25-29, 2025
Week 2:     September 29 - October 3, 2025
Week 3:     December 1-5, 2025
Week 4:     January 26-30, 2026
Week 5:     March 23-27, 2026
Week 6:     June 1-4, 2026

Graduation will be held at the UW Madison campus in June. 


Curriculum

Wisconsin Command College participants will gain cutting-edge knowledge and learn practical skills from experienced professionals. Written projects and case studies are integrated into the curriculum. Some of the topics include:
