Drug Take Back - October 24, 2020

The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will conduct a statewide Drug Take-Back on October 24, 2020. You may register to conduct a one day drug take-back event and/or to turn over drugs collected in your permanent drop box for disposal.

All disposal boxes requested during registration will be provided by the DEA. You should expect to receive your boxes and liners no later than October 12, 2020. Contact Jamie Kubina, contractor at the DEA (jamie.r.kubina@usdoj.gov), for more inforamtion about disposal boxes and liners.

Only law enforcement agencies may register to participate. One registration per department allowed.

On October 26, 2019, Wisconsin had a total collection of 60,472 lbs for our fall Drug Take Back Collection date. Wisconsin had the second largest collection in the nation, beating the State of California in the biannual drug collection.

Due to COVID-19, there was no spring collection event. 


Law Enforcement agencies must register to safely dispose of all collected medications. 

Deadline for registration: September 11, 2020.
