INTRODUCTORY training FOR VICTIM SERVICE PROVIDERS (ITVSP) VIRTUAL SESSION VIA ZOOM

The Wisconsin Department of Justice Office of Crime Victim Services (OCVS) Virtual Introductory Training for Victim Service Providers (ITVSP) provides information about four of the OCVS direct service programs that help victim service professionals assist crime victims and survivors.

OCVS ITVSP Sessions:

- Crime Victim Rights and Enforcement

- Crime Victim Compensation (CVC)

- Sexual Assault Forensic Exam (SAFE) Fund

- Safe at Home: Wisconsin’s Address Confidentiality Program

To fulfill the OCVS training requirement detailed in award contracts, all OCVS subrecipients must either attend an online or in-person Office of Crime Victim Services Introductory Training for Victim Service Providers (ITVSP), watch three 10-minute videos and one 60-minute module, and complete a post-test to confirm your knowledge of the information.

Please note:

    - Once you are registered, you will receive an email with instructions to                 access the videos and module.

    - The post-test link will be given to participants at the end of the training.

    - After attending the training and passing the post-test, you will receive the            Certificate of Completion via email within four (4) weeks.

This training meets the three-year training requirement for OCVS grant-funded agencies. The OCVS training is FREE.

Date and Time:

Friday, March 7, 2025
9:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M.
Virtually via Zoom

We also recommend that all new advocates participate in the Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy School (SAVAS). This training addresses the basics of being a victim advocate — answering the crisis line, providing individual and systems advocacy, and providing outreach in your community. Participants will have opportunities to practice the skills necessary to provide comprehensive advocacy for victims. New sexual assault victim advocates and domestic violence victim advocates who are staff of Sexual Assault Service Providers (SASPs) are encouraged to attend.

SAVAS will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, March 4-6 and 11-13.
